Meet Our Physician

Dr. Jerath is a women’s health physician, medical director, thought leader, entrepreneur, speaker, consultant, and expert.  She is a champion of women’s, reproductive, and maternal health, physician well-being, and healthcare social media.  She has 30 years of clinical, leadership, and business experience.  Her mission is to empower women about their health through all stages of reproductive health, including adolescence, pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, and beyond.

Vandna Jerath, MD, FACOG, earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Denver in 1990 and her Doctor of Medicine degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine in 1994. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology internship and residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and Hospital in 1998. She has been board certified in obstetrics and gynecology since 2001 and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  She stays up to date on all the latest medical research and updates.

Dr. Jerath practiced obstetrics and gynecology at Colorado Ob/Gyn Associates prior to relocating her practice to Parker, Colorado and opening her ob/gyn practice - Optima Women’s Healthcare and her wellness practice - Optima Vitality MD.  Her clinical practice is a relaxing, warm, inviting, spa-like setting where she provides personalized, compassionate healthcare for women. She has currently been in practice for 26 years and has been a physician for 30 years.  She is a solo private practice physician and the medical director and owner of both her medical practices.  By being the only physician in her practice she is able to develop a strong rapport with patients and they get to know her well.  Most of Dr. Jerath's patients have been seeing her for 10-20+ years.

Dr. Jerath provides comprehensive ob/gyn care and has an interest in high risk obstetrics, minimally invasive and laparoscopic gynecologic surgery, menopause, bioidentical hormone pellet therapy, and laser vaginal revitalization.  She is a maternal and reproductive health advocate and has delivered over 5000 babies to grow happy and healthy families.  She is a women’s health and menopause expert and has successfully treated thousands of women with hormones to help them live vibrantly and age gracefully.

Dr. Jerath has served in multiple physician leadership roles.  She is the immediate past Department Chair for Obstetrics & Gynecology at Parker Adventist Hospital and served on the hospital Medical Executive Committee for 3 years.  She currently serves on the Physician Leadership Council, Perinatal Committee, and Parker Hospital Foundation Board.  She was selected by executive leadership at the hospital for the Centura Physician Leadership Academy which was a 2 year long training program.  She has a passion for physician wellness and helping physicians thrive.  She is the creator and founder of CREW, a physician wellness program at Parker Adventist Hospital and was named the Medical Director of Physician Wellness.  She received the Physician Humanitarian Award at Parker Adventist Hospital in 2019 and the Advent Health Exceptional Leadership in Physician Well-being Award in 2022 for her physician well-being dedication and efforts.  She serves on the Colorado ACOG education committee.  She also spends considerable time mentoring teens, premed, graduate, nursing, physician assistant, and medical students to help them attain their aspirations in healthcare.

Dr. Jerath is passionate about women’s healthcare and actively promotes patient education and community outreach. She is the go to women's health speaker for AdventHealth Parker Hospital community and has done numerous presentations and seminars.  Using healthcare social media to engage, educate, enlighten, and empower women, patients, colleagues, and the community, she has become a healthcare social media pioneer and expert locally. She has done healthcare social media presentations and/or consulting for several hospitals, medical societies, practice management organizations, and healthcare colleagues, including Colorado ACOG and the 4cornersMGMA.  She was also featured on Denver 9News by Cheryl Preheim as the Social Media Doctor.  She was also listed as a top 100 social media influencer in obstetrics & gynecology on Twitter/X in 2023.  She maintains a women’s health blog at drjerath.com and her social media handles are @drjerath, @doctorjerath, @optimawhc, and @optimavitalitymd.

Dr. Jerath enjoys playing tennis, hiking, attending the theater, arts festivals, concerts, political discussions, and other cultural events. She has previously completed several triathlons, half-marathons, and one marathon. She is also a Denver Broncos football fan and can often be found in the stands cheering. One of her greatest passions is to travel and she has had many memorable adventures and some of her favorite destinations include India, South Africa, Italy, Panama, Cambodia, and Costa Rica. She has lived in Colorado since 1981 and loves everything it has to offer.

Her patients describe her as compassionate, dedicated, insightful, knowledgeable, diligent, highly skilled, energetic and personable. Her favorite inspirational quote is by Maya Angelou, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”  This is the way she lives her life both personally and professionally.
